PLAGIARISM AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI) USAGE POLICY

Journal STRANOVIA (Scholarly Teaching Research and New Approaches in Various Academic Innovations) upholds strict standards of academic integrity and originality in scholarly publishing. The journal implements comprehensive plagiarism screening and ethical guidelines regarding the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in manuscript preparation.

1. Plagiarism Policy

Journal STRANOVIA requires that all submitted manuscripts must be original and free from plagiarism. Plagiarism is defined as the use of another person’s ideas, words, data, or work without proper acknowledgment or citation. This includes direct copying, paraphrasing without citation, self-plagiarism, data fabrication, and inappropriate reuse of previously published materials.

  • All manuscripts are screened using reliable plagiarism detection software prior to the peer review process.

  • The journal applies a maximum similarity index of 20%, excluding references, quotations, and commonly used methodological descriptions.

  • Manuscripts exceeding the similarity threshold may be:

    • Returned to authors for revision, or

    • Rejected if significant plagiarism or academic misconduct is identified.

  • Any indication of plagiarism discovered during peer review or after publication may result in manuscript rejection, correction, or retraction in accordance with publication ethics standards.

Authors are responsible for ensuring proper citation, paraphrasing, and referencing of all sources using the required citation style.

2. Self-Plagiarism Policy

Authors must avoid substantial overlap with their previously published or submitted works. Reuse of data, text, or findings must be clearly cited and justified. Duplicate submission to multiple journals simultaneously is strictly prohibited.

3. Artificial Intelligence (AI) Usage Policy

Journal STRANOVIA acknowledges the increasing use of Artificial Intelligence tools in academic writing and research development. The journal allows the responsible and ethical use of AI tools under the following conditions:

  • The use of AI-assisted tools (e.g., for grammar checking, language improvement, or data organization) must not compromise academic originality and scholarly integrity.

  • The overall contribution of AI-generated content within the manuscript must not exceed 20% of the total content.

  • AI tools cannot be listed as authors because authorship requires intellectual accountability and scholarly responsibility.

  • Authors must ensure all AI-assisted content is:

    • Critically reviewed and validated by the authors

    • Factually accurate and academically reliable

    • Properly integrated into scholarly argumentation

Authors are encouraged to transparently disclose the use of AI tools in the methodology, acknowledgment, or declaration section when applicable.

4. Author Accountability

Authors bear full responsibility for the originality, authenticity, and academic integrity of their manuscripts, including sections that involve AI-assisted writing or data processing. Submission of a manuscript indicates that authors confirm compliance with the journal’s plagiarism and AI usage policies.

5. Ethical Enforcement and Consequences

If plagiarism or unethical AI usage is detected, the journal reserves the right to:

  • Reject the manuscript immediately

  • Request revision or clarification from authors

  • Retract published articles where misconduct is confirmed

  • Notify authors’ affiliated institutions if serious ethical violations occur

Journal STRANOVIA maintains these policies to promote ethical scholarship, protect intellectual property rights, and ensure the publication of high-quality and trustworthy educational research.
