PEER REVIEW PROCESS

Journal STRANOVIA (Scholarly Teaching Research and New Approaches in Various Academic Innovations) applies a rigorous, transparent, and ethical peer review process to ensure the publication of high-quality scholarly work that meets international academic standards. The journal adopts a double-blind peer review system, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed throughout the review process to maintain objectivity, impartiality, and academic integrity.

1. Initial Manuscript Screening
Upon submission, each manuscript undergoes an initial editorial screening conducted by the Editor-in-Chief or an assigned Section Editor. At this stage, the manuscript is evaluated for its relevance to the journal’s focus and scope, originality, academic contribution, clarity of presentation, and adherence to the journal’s author guidelines. Manuscripts that do not meet these basic criteria, fall outside the journal’s scope, or show significant methodological or ethical concerns may be desk-rejected without external review. Plagiarism screening is also conducted using appropriate similarity-checking tools to ensure academic integrity.

2. Assignment to Reviewers
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise in the subject area. Reviewers are selected based on their scholarly background, publication record, and experience in the relevant field of study. The double-blind system ensures that reviewers do not have access to the authors’ identities, affiliations, or any identifying information.

3. Peer Review Evaluation
Reviewers are asked to provide a comprehensive and constructive evaluation of the manuscript. The review focuses on several key aspects, including:

  • Originality and significance of the research contribution

  • Theoretical grounding and literature engagement

  • Research design, methodology, and data analysis rigor

  • Clarity, coherence, and organization of the manuscript

  • Validity of findings and strength of discussion

  • Ethical considerations and academic integrity

  • Relevance to primary and secondary education contexts

Reviewers provide detailed comments, suggestions for improvement, and a clear recommendation (accept, minor revision, major revision, or reject). The journal emphasizes developmental feedback, aiming to support authors in improving the quality and impact of their work.

4. Editorial Decision
Based on reviewers’ reports, the editor makes an initial decision. In cases where reviewers’ recommendations differ, the editor may seek an additional review or make a reasoned judgment based on the strength of the arguments presented. Authors receive anonymized reviewer comments along with the editorial decision. The decision categories include:

  • Accept without revision

  • Accept with minor revisions

  • Revise and resubmit (major revisions)

  • Reject

5. Revision and Resubmission
Authors invited to revise their manuscripts are required to submit a revised version along with a detailed response-to-reviewers document, clearly indicating how each comment has been addressed. Revised manuscripts may be returned to the original reviewers for further evaluation, particularly in cases of major revision, to ensure that concerns have been adequately resolved.

6. Final Decision and Acceptance
After satisfactory revisions, the editor makes the final acceptance decision. Accepted manuscripts proceed to copyediting, layout, and proofreading stages to ensure linguistic accuracy, formatting consistency, and overall publication quality. Authors are given the opportunity to review proofs before final publication.

7. Ethical Standards and Transparency
Journal STRANOVIA adheres to international publication ethics, including confidentiality, avoidance of conflicts of interest, and respect for intellectual property. Reviewers are required to declare any potential conflicts of interest and to treat all manuscripts as confidential documents. Any cases of ethical misconduct are handled following established scholarly publishing guidelines.

Through this comprehensive peer review process, Journal STRANOVIA ensures that all published articles demonstrate academic rigor, ethical integrity, and meaningful contributions to the field of primary and secondary education research.
